Helping pupils shine, even when they’ve been dimmed by the system.
The Shining Light Programme is our flagship mentoring offer, supporting pupils who are disengaged, misunderstood, or on the edge of exclusion. Weekly mentoring builds confidence, raises aspirations, and brings young people back into the light.

Who It’s For
Built for the pupils who often get left behind.
The Shining Light Programme is designed for learners who:
- Are at risk of exclusion or managed moves
- Show low motivation or passive learning behaviours
- Struggle with confidence, identity, or focus
- Have low aspirations or little connection to future goals
- Are navigating complex SEMH, SEND, or social needs
We work closely with pastoral teams, DSLs, and SENDCOs to ensure pupils receive the support they need from all angles.
What We Deliver
Targeted mentoring, tailored to your school.
- Weekly sessions (always 1:1 or small group)
- Minimum 12-week placement per pupil (then rotate if needed)
- Recommended model: Full academic year
- Delivered in-school by trained School Engagement Officers
- Themes include but are not limited to self-regulation identity, aspiration, boundaries, confidence, reflection, and motivation
- Cultural competency and lived experience are at the heart of delivery

Why It Works
Culturally competent. Real-world relevant. Outcome driven.
Our mentoring works because we:
- Prioritise relationships built on trust and understanding
- Align with school behaviour, safeguarding, and SEND strategies
- Embed staff into the wider school culture, not as visitors, but partners
- Consistently reduce exclusions, improve engagement, and shift mindsets
- Train mentors in trauma-informed and SEMH practice
We don’t just plug a gap, we shift the trajectory.

What Schools Get
More than just a session, it’s a support system.

Testimonials
Our programmes are built on trust, understanding, and real impact. Every voice matters, and we are proud to share the words of the young people who have grown through our support. Their experiences reflect the heart of our work and the value of having someone in their corner who listens, believes, and encourages them to shine.
“There has been a high impact and certainly less incidents around school”
Rachel Medley, Headteacher
Benson Oasis Academy
“Bouncing Statistics staff too have an eagerness to learn, but go above and beyond in supporting school staff to build a culture of learning and development. Meeting and supporting diverse children with a range of needs”.
Dan Masters, Assistant Headteacher
